Nylon Casters · Non-Rusting Hard Wheel

The Hard Wheel That Won’t Rust or Flat-Spot

a steel wheel rusts in washdown and a soft rubber wheel flattens under standing load and carries little. a nylon wheel sidesteps both — it does not rust, cleans easily, resists flat spots, and carries a lot for its size while rolling with low effort.

JRT white nylon fixed caster, 100mm 200kg

In a washdown bay or a food-prep area, a plated steel wheel rusts where the plating chips and the moisture sits. swap to a soft rubber wheel and you trade rust for a different problem: it carries far less, and a load left standing on it presses a flat spot that thumps every rotation afterwards. neither is the right wheel for a cart that must stay clean and carry weight.

A nylon wheel answers both. it is a solid plastic wheel — so it cannot rust — that cleans easily, resists oils and many solvents, and stays round under a standing load. for its size it carries a lot and rolls with low effort. white nylon suits hygienic and lab carts; glass-reinforced black nylon steps the load up for heavier equipment.

The loads shown are real per build: white nylon at 100mm / 200kg in swivel and fixed, plus 80mm and braked builds; black reinforced at 75mm / 600kg swivel and fixed, and 50mm / 300kg in the threaded braked build. all run on precision ball bearings that lower starting effort by about 15–20%, and the range meets ANSI/ICWM and ISO 22883 requirements.

Where nylon is not the right wheel: nylon is a hard wheel, so it does not cushion — on a hard floor it is noisier and passes more shock than rubber or PU, and it will not protect a delicate floor the way a soft tread does. it resists oils and many solvents but is not suited to strong acids, and like all nylon it absorbs some moisture over long exposure. for quiet running or floor protection choose rubber or PU; for heat choose a high-temperature caster. tell us the floor, load, and any chemicals and we point you to the right tread.

Where they are used

Food & hygiene

Washdown & food-area carts

Food-prep and processing carts that get washed down, where a wheel must not rust and must wipe clean.

Lab & clean areas

Lab & equipment trolleys

White nylon on lab trolleys and equipment stands that need a clean look and free rolling.

Industrial

Heavy machinery & racks

Glass-reinforced black nylon under heavier machinery and equipment that needs load on a compact wheel.

Nylon caster & procurement FAQ

Why choose a nylon wheel over steel or rubber?
Nylon does not rust the way a steel wheel does in washdown, and it carries far more load than a soft rubber wheel of the same size while resisting flat spots. it rolls with low effort and cleans easily, which is why it suits washdown and food-area carts. the trade-off is that it is a hard wheel with no cushioning.
White nylon or black reinforced nylon — which should I choose?
White nylon shown is 100mm rated to 200kg in swivel and fixed, with 80mm and braked builds, and suits hygienic and lab carts. glass-reinforced black nylon carries more — 75mm rated to 600kg swivel and fixed, and a 50mm threaded braked build to 300kg for heavier equipment.
Is nylon really chemical resistant?
Nylon resists oils, greases, and many solvents and cleaning agents and does not rust, which makes it easy to keep clean. it is not suited to strong acids, and like all nylon it absorbs some moisture over long exposure, so for aggressive chemistry tell us the medium and we advise on the right material.
Are nylon casters noisy?
Nylon is a hard wheel, so on a hard floor it is noisier and passes more shock than a soft rubber or PU tread. where quiet running or floor cushioning matters, a rubber or PU wheel is the better choice; where load, low rolling effort, and no rust matter, nylon wins.
What loads and sizes are available?
White nylon shown is 100mm to 200kg, with 80mm and braked builds; black reinforced is 75mm to 600kg and 50mm threaded to 300kg. other sizes, stems, and loads are rated per model on your quote.
Can you supply these under our brand in mixed-load orders?
Yes. we laser-etch or pad-print your logo or ship unbranded with neutral cartons, and consolidate white and black nylon casters with other caster types into one mixed-load container at distributor scale. FOB and CIF supported.
